These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PermitDig (the "Service"), operated by Weblabra ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using PermitDig, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service Description
PermitDig is a free informational tool that aggregates building permit data from publicly available government records across multiple US jurisdictions. We provide search, mapping, analytics, and browsing features to help users discover and analyze building permit activity.
The Service is for informational purposes only. We do not issue, modify, or revoke building permits. We do not provide legal, construction, or real estate advice.
2. Data Sources & Accuracy
All permit data is sourced from public government records filed with local building departments, county clerks, and state data portals. While we strive for accuracy and timeliness:
- Data may not reflect real-time changes or corrections made by the issuing jurisdiction.
- Some jurisdictions may have incomplete records or reporting delays.
- Estimated values are self-reported by applicants and may not reflect actual construction costs.
- Owner and contractor names are as recorded in public filings and may contain errors.
Always verify permit information directly with the issuing jurisdiction before making decisions.
3. Public Records
Building permits are public records under state and local transparency laws. Information displayed on PermitDig — including property owner names, addresses, contractor names, and project details — is already part of the public record as filed with government agencies. We do not create, modify, or enhance this information with private data sources.
4. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that permit data is complete, accurate, or current. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Weblabra shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to: real estate decisions, contractor hiring, investment decisions, or business decisions made based on permit data displayed.
6. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service for lawful purposes including:
- Research and market analysis
- Business intelligence and lead generation
- Neighborhood and property research
- Competitive analysis
You agree not to:
- Scrape or bulk-download data via automated means beyond normal browsing.
- Use the Service to harass, stalk, or target property owners or contractors.
- Reproduce or redistribute our aggregated datasets without permission.
- Misrepresent PermitDig data as official government records or certifications.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure.
7. Intellectual Property
The underlying permit data is public record and not copyrightable. Our compilation, organization, search indexes, analytics, map visualizations, UI design, and generated content are proprietary and protected by applicable copyright laws.
8. Third-Party Links
The Service contains links to government data portals and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or availability of linked sites.
9. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction.
